Hello and welcome —

I’m Ann, one of the few full-time private English tutors in Sydney with over a decade of dedicated experience.

I’m not a casual tutor or a university student from a matching service; English tutoring is my long-term profession, and I’ve worked with hundreds of students across different learning styles, strengths, and challenges –  including many from Sefton High – over many years.

My lessons are structured yet flexible. There’s no rigid program or generic worksheets; each session adapts to what your child needs that week. I work closely with their individual personality to support them as they build skill in writing, analysis, and confidence.

There are no quick fixes. I’ll meet you where you are and guide steadily toward stronger skills and greater confidence in English.

If this sounds like the right fit for your child, you’re welcome to complete the enrolment form here. I’ll review your child’s details and add you to the waitlist, and will be in touch when a suitable time becomes available.

Does your child want more clarity and confidence in English?

Your child might be…

  • unsure how to improve or feeling overwhelmed
  • struggling to organise ideas clearly
  • needing calm structure, clarity, and gentle support
  • wanting extension or looking to excel beyond school lessons

And as a parent, you might be feeling:

  • uncertain whether they need extra support
  • unclear about what kind of help will make a difference

Parents often tell me they want:

  • clarity about how their child is really going
  • a tutor who understands their child’s personality and learning style
  • clear insight into whether their child needs extra support or is on track
  • a practical plan of action to address weaknesses and build strengths
  • stability — the same teacher who knows their child well
  • flexible lessons shaped around schoolwork, assessments, and upcoming exams
  • a gentle, pressure-free environment without fear tactics or drill
  • genuine, long-term confidence that builds naturally over time

If this is what you’re looking for, you’re in the right place.

How Lessons Work

I teach one-on-one and in small focus groups.

Most students learn in a pair or small group. This format encourages independence, active thinking, and long-term growth – far more than relying on one-on-one support each week. One-on-one lessons are offered where intensive short-term help or specific learning needs make it the better fit.

Lessons may include:

  • revision for schoolwork
  • preparation for exams and assessments
  • targeted English skill-building
  • writing, analysis, and comprehension practice
  • clear, structured feedback
  • weekly tasks to reinforce learning
  • guidance for NAPLAN, internal assessments, and HSC English

Lessons are held in a dedicated study space in my home – a quiet, focused environment built for consistent, thoughtful learning.
